75% of adventurous seeking tourists in Chiang Mai caught in ‘Tourist Traps’
As we all know the “Made in China” copy cats, tourist trap products are the same but just you have no time to excuse yourself buying it again.
It is the fact that most of tourists prefer the cheapest price of anything which is good in those countries that the laws enforcement in quality and safety control is strictly commit, the prices and qualities of each product are not much different or at least base on controlling standard.
However, tourism products in Chiang Mai are different, lots of tour operators here have found out that truth and created of what call Tourist Trap. Those trappers provided varieties of activity that aim to attract and motivate customers by obvious cheaper prices compare to qualified ones.
The advertising shows for example a day trip that provided full of activities such as 1-2 hours of whitewater rafting, 1-1.30 hour elephant riding, trekking, visit the famous Long Neck tribe and etc. It is no surprise that these convince your thought as it is worth to pay for. But in the mean time, you will gain experience of half an hour whitewater rafting plus 300-500 meters of bamboo rafting instead of 2 hours, elephants walk on the concrete roads instead of woods, short trek through the forest to get to the set up houses with tribal costume dressed up people that they called hill tribe village and etc. It is hard to deny that it is not a tourist trap. Believe it or not, sometimes all of these activities could be completed before the standard tour which provides fewer activities in one day.
So please consider thoughtfully if the trustworthy standard tours could change your experiences from ‘So so’ or ‘It’s ok’ to the impressive experience ‘Once in the life time’ by paying a little more.
